There are many, many reasons to be excited about Britney Spears' new album (code name: B9) — chief among them her miraculous transformation from "pop star going through the motions" to "pop goddess shutting it down" over the past two years. Suddenly (and inexplicably), the now 34-year-old icon is performing her Piece of Me show in Las Vegas better than ever before! Of course, the comments Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph, and Spears herself have made about the LP recently are pretty exciting, too. In February, Rudolph described B9's sound as "Britney meets The Weeknd" during a radio interview; and in March, Spears called it "the best thing" she's "done in a long time" during an interview with V Magazine. Whoa. Unfortunately, the upcoming project's release date is still a big ol' mystery. How will we ever survive the wait for new Britney? By losing ourselves in the most underrated Britney Spears songs of all time... duh!

Sadly, Spears' discography is chock-full of tracks that just don't get the love and attention they deserve. If you've never heard the songs listed below before... they're new to you! (And believe me, your life is about to improve significantly.) However, if you have heard the songs listed below before, now is a great time to listen to 'em again and reflect on Spears' undeniable musical brilliance. Sound good? Good.

Without further ado, here are the 13 most underrated Britney Spears songs in existence:

"Radar" from Blackout (2007)

I love how Spears sounds like a total robot on "Radar"; and I love how clever the lyrics are. It's a real gem.

"(I Got That) Boom Boom" from In the Zone (2003)

This is the best song the Ying Yang Twins ever recorded, tbh.

"Out from Under" from Circus (2008)

"Out from Under" is my second-favorite Spears ballad (after "Everytime," of course). It's sooo underrated.

"Selfish" from Femme Fatale (2011)

To my knowledge, "Selfish," which appears as a bonus track on Femme Fatale's deluxe edition, is the only song Spears has ever worked on with Norwegian production duo Stargate (Rihanna's "Diamonds," Fifth Harmony's "Worth It," Selena Gomez's "Same Old Love," etc.). Fingers crossed they collaborate again soon!

"Soda Pop" from ...Baby One More Time (1999)

My love for this song is undying. It's impossible not to feel good when you listen to it — impossible!

"Passenger" from Britney Jean (2013)

"Passenger," which was co-written by Sia and Katy Perry, is one of the few bright spots on Britney Jean (which absolutely deserves its reputation as Spears' worst album).

"Unusual You" from Circus (2008)

Spears and Swedish producers Bloodshy & Avant make magic together. Over the years, the trio has given us such timeless classics as "Toxic," "Piece of Me," and "How I Roll." (Bloodshy & Avant produced four other songs on this list: "Radar," "Trip to Your Heart," "Freakshow," and "Phonography.")

"Anticipating" from Britney (2001)

I legitimately never get tired of this song. It's so sparkly and amazing.

"Trip to Your Heart" from Femme Fatale (2011)

I've yet to meet another person who loves "Trip to Your Heart" as much as I do, but that's OK. It's a gorgeous dance ballad, and I must continue to speak my truth!

"Freakshow" from Blackout (2007)

The bass... the bass!

"Phonography" from Circus (2008)

Somehow, "Phonography" is the only song in Spears' discography about phone sex. Huh.

"Trouble for Me" from Femme Fatale (2011)

Can you tell Femme Fatale is my favorite Spears album?

"Gasoline" from Femme Fatale (2011)

"Gasoline" puts a fresh spin on Spears' unmistakable early sound (think: "...Baby One More Time," "Oops!... I Did It Again," "Lucky," etc.), and I absolutely adore it.
