On a cold morning Charles wakes Denice to help him plant Plastic Tulips In The Winter. “Daddy” she ask, “Why are we planting plastic tulips in the winter?” He answered her, “Because, when people drive by and see our tulips, we will be the only ones that can grow tulips in the winter.” Denice learns that a fatherless child grows up thinking all things are possible, but nothing is safe. She searches for the answer to the question: “Momma, are we there yet?” Get ready to laugh but keep the kleenex close by as you take this journey with Denice. As you read this coming of age book. You will say to everyone, “It is a must read.” It will be life changing for all that go on this journey with Denice."

"Superstar residencies in Las Vegas are certainly nothing new, but that doesn’t mean the industry isn’t changing. In fact, the idea of what a musical residency in Sin City has been turned on its head, and the medium is experiencing something of a renaissance, and it’s all thanks to Britney Spears. Before Britney and her Piece Of Me show came along, a Las Vegas residency was typically reserved for those performers whose time in the spotlight had all but passed. It was not for singers and bands who are still in their prime, but rather it was the perfect next step for the kind of star that the world still respects, but for whom the spotlight had moved on from. There is still room for those legacy acts, but the times they are a changing, and a new audience is headed to Vegas for entirely different shows. Spears is perhaps not in her “prime”, but she is still recording and releasing music that has a very good chance of performing well sales-wise and on the charts, whereas artists like Elton John or Celine Dion (to provide just two examples) may still create new music, but it’s unlikely that any of their new material will appear on top 40 radio. In the two-plus years since Britney began her Piece Of Me show, she has proven that it won’t stop her from her regular release schedule. In fact, her residency kicked off just weeks after her most recent album, Britney Jean, hit store shelves, and since then she unleashed new single “Pretty Girls”. While none of the songs she’s launched since taking up in Vegas have become big hits (“Girls” barely cracked the top 40, while another single, “Perfume”, missed it entirely), it’s hard to argue that people didn’t pay attention, or that she’s “done”. Though Britney makes several hundred thousand dollars per night, it is apparently still a moneymaker for the venue, and she just recently renewed for another two years. Now that the experiment has been proven successful, other singers and venues are jumping on board with the trend. Mariah Carey recently kicked off her tenure, while Jennifer Lopez begins hers shortly. With just one pop star, the connotation connected to having a Las Vegas residency has been completely changed, and now it’s a cool thing that all the biggest names in music want. They are able to see the value in signing on to do them, and they no longer need to worry about what it will do to their image. It will be interesting to see who becomes the next current superstar to head to Las Vegas and set up shop."

"So it all started off with the back stage tour! I was so anxious I went to Planet Hollywood three hours earlier than the Meet and Greet started just in case we hit traffic! Im always embarrassed to go places alone and I was that night but once I met the others that were alone I felt fine! I got so nervous when I saw Jamie Spears and it set it in that I was going to be meeting Godney again! The backstage tour is always a blast! Like last time I made sure I was by Fe the whole time and talked to her! I saw that on instagram Britney posted a video from church and I asked Fe if she was in town! She said she just got to PH and that she only comes a few hours before the show and leaves right after, except for Fridays, which she stays the night then waits all saturday until the show then leaves after! We went through all the same facts and ect as last time! However, the wardrobe room HAD NO AC!! I was sweating my hairspray out! When It was time to meet britney I was first in line but I thought that I couldnt do it and I told Fe i was too nervous so I let 4 other people go in front of me! When I saw her silhouette I asked Fe, is her hair like the pretty girls hair and she went “YES! I love your questions because you’re just so knowledgeable and factual!” We had talked earlier about her hair and Fe said they were talking about Britney getting extensions but she didn’t know if she was going to get them by tonight. With my last meet and greet they had only a dark purple light on us and I couldn’t even see her and I was just so starstuck and crying so our picture turned out awkward! However, when it was my turn this time I went up and acted like we were BFF’s casually talking I went “Hi Britney, Im Richard!” and we shook hands and she said “Hi its nice to meet you!” and she put her arm around me like she wanted to take the picture. well… SHE PUT HER ARM AROUND ME! The security said don’t touch her and don’t ask for a hug but SHE TOUCHED ME WITHOUT ME ASKING! So I got really nervous and thought my time was up and started walking away! but I was like no, dont be like last time where we didnt talk! so I turned around and was like “im so excited to see the show again! this is my 7th time seeing piece of me!” and she did her little cute Britney Clap and went “Oh yay!!!! I hope you love it AGAIN!” with a little cute laugh! And I said I would then we said our good bye’s! some people said she didn’t talk to them and just took the picture but honestly, she knows nothing about you and you know everything about her! Its up to you to introduce yourself, put your hand out for a hand shake, and make conversation! Don’t be starstruck because this is a once in a lifetime experience for many people and most people only have one chance! the show was the best I had been to because she is totally on top of her game right now! I sat by some other people that met her and they all said they can die happy now!"

"I’ve met her on the femme fatale tour when she filmed the DVD in Toronto and then twice in 2015 during the Las Vegas shows. Once back in February and the other this past Wednesday. All 3 of my stories are pretty similar. As hard as it is to do I honestly treat Britney just like a normal human being when I meet her. All three times I basically walked in extended my hand to hers and introduced my self and said hi Britney it’s nice to meet you. She always shook my hand and smiled with that beautiful smile of hers and said nice to meet you in such a soft spoken southern voice. We always posed for the picture then I told her what I wanted to say. The first time I told her I thought she was very beautiful and told her she was an amazing entertainer she blushed smiled and said awe why thank you. The second meet n greet I told her I’ve seen many performers in my life and told her she has the best stage presence that I’ve ever seen and she said thank you so much and I hope you enjoy tonight’s show. Then finally this third meet n greet was my favorite. I walked up on stage and seen her behind the backdrop and then I was put on hold for about 60 seconds because she was scrolling through the camera looking at previous photos for whoever was up prior to me so I had some extra Britney time. Once she was done looking at the camera she then said come on over we shook hands again and smiled at each other and before I could even put my arm around her she had already pulled me very close pretty much cheek to cheek with her arm around each other and we took the picture. I basically told her how amazing she is and she said thank you so much. It’s really hard to get out much more than that because I do nothing but blush when I meet her because she is so adorable. But I just wished her luck again and that was basically it. I’ve always loved Britney Spears since day one when …Baby one more time was released. I always thought she was such a beautiful girl with an amazing voice and electrifying dance moves. Her music just has such catchy beats that make you wanna dance till the world ends. I’m a mobile disc jockey and always play her music and support her. I love Britney so much and what I like the most about her is how mentally strong and confident she is. I feel when I see her live it’s equal to seeing an Elvis Presley or Michael Jackson perform. I’m fearful of flying so I drove 34 hours from Pennsylvania twice this year to meet her. I’ve seen her perform total 21 times during her career and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The meet n greet is totally worth everything! Thank you Britney-Galaxy for letting me feature my story, I love the site!"

"Last Monday, before I left for Las Vegas, I received a beautiful card in the mail. I knew it was coming because just a few days earlier I had received an exciting message requesting my address from the lovely pup Hannah Spears, beloved pet of Britney. When I got home from work, I was mostly surprised to see how fast it had arrived! It was late in the afternoon Friday that my address was requested and to see that it had arrived Monday morning was surprising to me. Anyway, I didn’t really do much of a “fan girl” freak out over the card, but I did squeal with glee after opening. “My card is covered in glitter – she knows me!” My beautiful, thoughtful card from Britney Spears was covered in glitter and had the title of one of my favorite songs, Lucky. It’s been over a week since I received my card, and to be honest, even now I’m hesitant to share it with the world, but after much debate I’ve decided to go ahead and let the world read the lovely words handwritten to me by the woman who has inspired me since 1998 when I was 13 years old. As much as I want to keep these words to myself, it’s more important to me tat the kindness and thoughtfulness of Britney’s heart be shared with the world. Her dignity and beauty, both inside and out, deserve to be shared with everyone. Thank you, Britney, for the most special card I’ve ever received. I will treasure it for always. And I hope you know that you are the sweetest, most inspiring and supportive out of all of us. YOU certainly make my world brighter."
