It’s a showdown between the two biggest pop stars in the world. The NFL wants either Taylor Swift or Britney Spears to star in the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show, but who will be chosen is totally up to them. Find out all the EXCLUSIVE details here!
Oops! Britney Spears might do it again. 15 years after starring in the 2001 Super Bowl Halftime Show — alongside NSYNC, Mary J. Blige, Nelly and Aerosmith — HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned that the NFL wants her to star in their 2016 Halftime Show, during it’s 50th championship game. But they also want Taylor Swift. So who are they ultimately going to choose? Well, that seems to be up to Britney and T-Swizzle.
“Absolutely nothing has been finalized or decided for the halftime show yet. Taylor has been asked and the NFL is awaiting an answer from her. The rumblings on Britney Spears’ involvement are still true and many other ideas and offers have been floated around. They are looking to finalize whomever will be performing by October,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
in other words, it seems totally up to Taylor and Britney. It sounds like whomever signs their name on the dotted line first would be chosen. Personally, we’d be happy with either choice.
Taylor Swift & Britney Spears: Why They Each Deserve To Star In Halftime Show
Taylor is in the prime of her career — she’s currently on a world tour, promoting her super successful album, 1989. And as of February 2015, only four months after its release, 1989 had sold over 8.6 million copies worldwide. She’s one of the hottest acts in the music industry right now, and it’d be interesting to see if she would diss Katy Perry, like Katy dissed her this year.
And Britney? Britney can do no wrong. She’s not only a huge pop star, but a worldwide icon. And her current residency show in Las Vegas was just renewed through 2017, thanks to high demand. After recently seeing her show at Planet Hollywood, we’re confident she’d put on one of the most memorable Halftime Shows ever.
