"Hi all, I would like to firstly introduce myself. My name is Sean Smith, I am 25 years old and I travelled to Vegas from England to meet Britney Spears for the second time. I am a massive Britney fan and have been since I was 8 years old (When Britney first came onto the music scene and released BOMT).
So this was my second meet and greet with Britney. (My first meet and greet doesn’t really have a great story to write, as I was so shy and nervous I blanked out and didn’t really even speak with Britney. I did meet some amazing Britney friends that night though!).
This time round I was more prepared. I stayed calm and collected. I knew what to expect and I knew this was possibly going to be my last chance to speak and share with Britney what I wanted her to know about my life and me.
When I arrived at the venue on Friday 7th August I was a little hot and bothered, as I thought I was going to be late for the back stage tour. I arrived there at just gone half 6 and luckily the tour hadn’t started and everyone was still waiting to be collected and taken into the venue. I collected my ticket and gold wristband from the box office and went over to wait with the other fans. We all stood talking and sharing our stories about Britney and how excited we were to meet her. This was a great start to the evening! I made some lovely new friends from all over America (who I am hoping to stay in touch with via social media).
We were taken into the venue at around 6:40, where the amazing and brilliant Fe greeted us. We had the evening’s itinerary explained to us and we were told some dos and don’ts of the back stage tour. After this we set off on our back stage tour of the venue, costume room and all other things Britney.
After the back stage tour we were told where to meet for our meet and greets. We was then given around 20 minutes to either grab a drink or freshen up before we would meet Britney.
When the time came to meet Britney we were taken outside the Venue where Fe and the security explained what would happen in the meet and greet. After this we all lined up down the corridor and waited our turn. I was about 7th or 8th to go in and meet Britney. I walked up the ramp and round the corner to see Britney stood there looking beautiful in her creamy, pink top with her amazingly blond hair with purple/blue tips. She looked fantastic and smiled right at me.
I walked over, shook her hand and introduced myself. I told her I had travelled from England to meet her and see the show. She smiled and said “wow, that’s amazing, thank you”. I then began to tell her about being a teacher and how her music helped me while I was studying at university (college). I also told her how I had recently split with my partner and how her older music from the BOMT and OIDIA albums had helped me through this break up. Britney seemed very responsive and told me that I was adorable and had an “amazingly gorgeous smile.” We then posed for the picture. After the picture Britney took my hand and told me “to never stop smiling”. I was so elated I smiled back thanked her and told her the show was amazing and I couldn’t wait to see it tonight and see Pretty Girls live for the first time. She thanked me again and then we hugged. When I got off the stage I was so happy I ran right over to Fe, told her how my experience had gone and gave her a massive hug.
My meet and greet experience really was perfect to me. I wouldn’t change it for the world!"
